What we believe

1

God, The Bible & Humanity

GOD: We believe that God alone is responsible for the creation of the world, and everything that exist within it; and that He has chosen to communicate to humanity through the canon of Scripture, the Bible.

THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible is by no means an ordinary book but rather the very thoughts of God, the Creator, toward humanity, His creation. 2 Timothy 3 says it like this “Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.”

HUMANITY: We believe humanity is God’s greatest love, His most prized creation and most important priority. As Father to His children, God created the world as the place where humanity could experience a relationship with the Divine. God’s goal is for them to learn, grow and become what God intended them to be.

Jesus Christ is God with us (Matthew 1:23), the very thoughts of God made flesh, the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth. He is the very expression of the invisible God, and in Him, we have a Saviour who came to save us from our mistakes and the error of humankind (Matthew 1:21).

We believe that not only is God with us, but He desires to be God in us (Colossians 1:27). He has freely given Himself, His Spirit, the most precious gift that empowers us to possess the very character of our Creator.

The Spirit of God in us not only covers our past and changes our present but creates a brand new future that extends beyond life in this world. The believer who has received this Gift can be confident of salvation in this life and life after death (Acts 5:32).

God's plan of salvation simple Acts of faith:

Grace

We believe that the grace of God, (God's unmerited favor to individuals who are not deserving), has provided God's special gift of salvation to everyone willing to believe and receive it through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Faith

We believe that faith in God's existence and ability to save is essential for a relationship with God. Without faith, no individual can please Him (Hebrews 11:1-6).

Repentance

We believe that because of humanity's challenge with the problem of sin, that each person must repent and be willing to accept the Gospel message of hope and eternal life (Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3 and Luke 24:47).

Baptism

We believe that water baptism in Jesus' name signifies His death and burial, and provides humanity with the removal of all their sins, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38; 22:16 and Romans 6:1-4).

The infilling of the Holy Spirit:

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (accompanied with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues), and His ability to enable individuals to become new creatures and enable them to live above the power of sin's pull (Mark 16:18; Acts 2:1-4; 5:32; 19:1-7; and 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Committed Christian Living:

After becoming "new creatures", believers are encouraged to purposely pursue lifestyles of holiness and separation from sin by not being “conformed to this world” (Romans 12:2). Living a holy life is enjoyable, and it involves making the decision to live wholesomely and being willing to commit living out the teachings of the Word of God. Interestingly, without holiness, no person can see God (Hebrews 12:14).

Evangelism

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

There is an urgent call and command for every born-again believer to reach the world for the cause of Christ. Jesus came “…to seek and to save that which was lost.” and He desires to see His children accomplish His purpose on earth. To effectively carry out this great commission we firmly believe that evangelism training is necessary. Through the teaching of His Word and the indwelling presence of His Spirit we are empowered to evangelize and be His witnesses.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
